March for Babies!

On April 19, 2008, we had the opportunity of spreading more glitter over the Triad!!! My Party Palace Triad was the corporate sponsor the "kids area" of the March for Babies (Forsyth County) walk! We provided a moonbounce, hole in one, ring toss, face painting and crafts!!! Girls were able to decorate a tiara and boys were able to decorate a visor! It was big fun and for a great cause!

The March of Dimes' mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. The organization carries out this mission through programs of research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies' lives. All of the kids at the walk loved our booth! Some adults loved it as well! A couple adult "Diva Walkers" made tiaras to walk in!

We are so thankful to have an opportunity to impact our community! At My Party Palace, we party with purpose!!!!!

Wellness Fair!

My Party Palace Triad had the honor of kick starting the local Girl Scout Wellness Fair on Saturday April 5, 2008! Because our number one priority is to empower girls, we could not miss an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of so many young girls! The Wellness Fair featured several booths that all dealt with health and wellness! Each scout had to travel to each booth and participate in the activity at that booth. There was a hula hoop booth, a nail care booth, a nutrition booth, a skin care booth and a safety online booth! Princess Jasmin and I started off the day by leading the group in the Cupid Shuffle and the Mississippi Slide--what fun! Dancing is wonderful exercise---we dance at every party! Pediatric Obesity is being considered an epidemic in the United States! One way to combat obesity is to exercise!

Childhood obesity is a serious medical condition that affects children and adolescents. It occurs when a child is well above the normal weight for his or her age and height. Childhood obesity is particularly troubling because the extra pounds often start kids on the path to health problems that were once confined to adults, such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
One of the best strategies to combat excess weight in your child is to improve the diet and exercise levels of your entire family. This helps protect the health of your child now and in the future.
